Crafting from extracted detail
It all began with a seashell. Personal Notes from the creation process: "The first study aims to understand our shell's fundamental form by observing texture, dimension, pattern, and any other surface qualities. With my shell, I focus on analyzing the organic shape of the shell from different angles, alternating between minuscule detail and large-scale silhouette observation. Texture is an essential part of this shell, as its natural pattern represents a leading motion, from the base/stem to the edges. The motion associated with this specific surface quality is one of quickness like a stone being thrown; the energy is stored tightly and then released, allowing the organic shape to build out mimicking a rapid propulsion." Many studies and experiments later, this tile design was born and assembled.
